After a long day of driving we arrived in Rastbuchl Germany yesterday. Not long after we settled in Jessica and I bundled up to go out side for a short run before dinner. We were both disappointed to see that the weather had followed us, but in the morning things began to clear up. Early this morning we were given the opportunity to take a few training jumps, to prepare for the team event that was to take place later that night. Training was pretty tame, there were not many jumps past 78 meters on the K-75, but the hill was in great shape and the weather was really nice. It appeared that my bad luck rubbed off on the whole Norwegian team. When traveling from Norway last night their skis had been “lost”. Kjell the Norwegian head coach developed a system that allowed the girls to compete in the team event. Hats off to the Norwegian team who managed to share a single pair of skis among three girls. The Austrians had another amazing day and won the team event by 35 points, with Slovenia just edging us out by only half of a point. It was a big loss, but it showed us what we all need to work on, and hopefully we will get them next year.
