WOMENS SKI JUMPING USA NEWS | ||
Another perfectly calm and sunny day in Vikersund made for another excellent competition. In the first competition round Lindsey missed her good technique a little bit and stood in 3rd place; Alissa had a better jump than yesterdays performance and sat in 5th place, and Jessica, after a much better trial round appeared to try too hard and was in 8th place. There were a couple of "dark-horses in the top group after the first round and the pressure was on these young girls, one form Germany and one from Italy, to put a good 2nd jump together as well. In the final round Jessica jumped 4 meters farther than the first jump, 91.5 meters. Alissa still had a pretty good jump but was pushed out by a couple of ladies, one being Jess, who had great 2nd jumps. Alissa was 88.5 and 86.5 meters, (1 meter, 2 points from 6th place). Lindsey had a better jump also and landed the 2nd best jump of the round at 94.5 meters. Casey |
