WOMENS SKI JUMPING USA NEWS | ||
Feb. 9, 2005 UPDATE FROM COACH CASEY COLBY IN SCHONWALD, GER Conditions were great, nice weather and the hill is in excellent condition. It was a very close competition and a few points made a big difference. Lindsey had jumps that kept getting better all day. Jessica had a couple of good training jumps but her birthday was not what she had hoped. Her comp jumps were not up to her normal standards. However, the other ladies did sing her happy birthday in front of about 500 people in the crowd. Alissa was jumping really well in Park City before we came overseas but could not find the same form here. Karla had a few jumps that were better, and she actually had a decent competition compared to last month, but there are more ladies in these events than last month. Brenna had an off day. She was having some trouble with her inrun and just didn't seem as though she could be aggressive in the flight because of it. Unfortunately she fell victim to the very first use of the 2nd round being only 30 skiers. We now have a day off to drive to our next event, and recover form a large meal and cake that was served in honor of Jessica's 18th birthday. |
