UPDATE FROM KARLA KECK IN RASTBUCHL, GER

Greetings from Rastbuchl, Germany. It was a nice contrast to the blizzards and rainstorms to have had our individual competition last night on a clear night with no wind. Since we had all day to prepare for our night competition, we spent the morning with all of the other nations touring a glass blowing factory. It was a three story building with beautiful glass work. After a demonstration in German, with a very humorous German/ English translation, we all got to blow our own glass vases. Lindsey was first to go,and even though she didn't quite understand what she was supposed to be doing, her glass vase turned out great.
The competition didn't quite go as we all would have liked. None of us were completely pleased with our performances. Lindsey had the top US result with a fifth place. We are all looking forward to competing on a larger hill in Saalfelden tomorrow.
